EL 20 Capacitor V3 P30-60

Applicable for:

  • Easy, all models
  • Smart, all models
  • Go, all models

This is a suppression capacitor (EMI filter capacitor) designed to reduce electrical noise (interference) and protect the internal switch from arcing. It is typically mounted close to the switch or directly onto the motor terminals.
The capacitor is rated at 0.33 µF, suitable for compact AVA machines using universal (brushed) motors.

*Recommended for qualified technicians or experienced electronics repairers

Note: This is a standard electronic component that can also be sourced from other suppliers. If choosing a third-party replacement, ensure identical specifications (capacitance, voltage rating, tolerance, and X2 safety class).

*This component is not essential for motor operation but is important for suppressing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and protecting the switch from premature wear. If replacing the switch box or noticing electrical noise issues, this capacitor may need replacement as well.

If the machine trips fuses, emits buzzing or sparks at the switch, this could be the cause. If unsure, consider replacing the entire switch assembly using a Warranty and Repair Kit.

Typical cause of failure

• Electrical ageing over time
• Damage due to power surges or moisture ingress
• Overheating from prolonged use or blocked ventilation
• Cracking or bulging of the capacitor body (visible during inspection)

Failure symptoms – Part correlation

• Sudden fuse blow when switching the machine on
• Audible popping or visible sparks at the switch
• Loss of internal EMI suppression, resulting in radio interference
• Switch degradation over time if used with faulty capacitor

Installation advice

Always prioritize safety first: Safety instructions – AVA of Norway

  • Always unplug the machine before working on electrical components.
  • Remove the switch box cover
  • Carefully disconnect the faulty capacitor and note wire positions.
  • Replace with an identical 0.33 µF X2 capacitor, matching polarity if marked.
  • Ensure tight connections and proper insulation before reassembly.

No dedicated how-to guide is available for this component. We recommend using the standard switch box replacement steps for Go, Easy or Smart models if replacing the entire assembly.

Warranty & Self-Repair – The AVA Way

At AVA, we encourage repair – not throwaway culture. You’re free to open your machine, inspect it, and replace parts yourself without losing your warranty. That’s part of what makes owning an AVA product different.

We offer guides, spare parts and support so that you can keep your machine running for many years to come – whether it’s a simple nozzle, a carbon brush, or a full pump module.

Many parts are designed to be replaceable – just like they should be.
Visible signs of use or repair are welcomed – they mean the product is being cared for.
